How Is An Explainer Video Made?

Got a tech innovation that you’re trying to get out to the world? Technology can be tough to understand, and your audience needs something to help them get to grips with what you have to offer.

It’s your job to find the best method to explain why they need it so much. But not just explain it—you’ve got to spell it out with graphics and voiceovers. And that’s where explainer videos make their triumphant entrance.

Here’s how we craft explainer videos that help tech businesses sell their services and products like hot cakes.

Step 1: Consultation

The first step is the briefing. It’s when we learn everything about your brand: your logo, your colour palette, your core values, and everything else that makes your brand unique.

Step 2: Scripting

While the script can be provided by the client, you can relax knowing that we have our own professional scriptwriters with years of experience. We can craft scripts that encapsulate any brand’s soul.

Step 3: Storyboarding

The graphics are the fun part of the video. The team will work hard to create professional, custom-drawn graphics to portray your brand in a way that engages and delights customers. Adobe Illustrator is our software of choice.

Step 4: Production

Here’s where the magic happens. The team imports the graphics into Adobe After Effects, then records a guide voiceover to go with the graphics.

But hold your horses! This isn’t the final voiceover yet, just a guide for the pro voice actor who will be hired later.

The graphics come to life with the use of keyframes. This whole process usually amounts to 10-20 hours of work.

Step 5: Fine-tuning

We send the video to the client, which they can analyse and ask for any revisions, if needed.

Step 6: Voiceover

Once the visuals have been signed off, a professional voiceover artist uses their best asset to make the video sing (as in sound awesome). Their voice is perfectly synced to the video, but that’s not all: there are also licensed sound effects added to make your video look and sound just like your brand: ultra-professional.

Step 7: Voilà

And, we’re done! The final step is supplying the client with the complete video in the desired format. After they receive it, they’re ready to post it on their YouTube channel, landing pages, social media platforms, or wherever else they want.

Your tech brand won’t be complete or fully understandable without an explainer video that’s professional and unique. Need one for your business? Give us a shout.
